Tourist Splendour of Mumbai

Mumbai, formerly known as Bombay, is the commercial capital of India. It has numerous historic and modern tourist spots to charm Indian and foreign tourists. It abounds in high rise modern structures that project its wealth and opulence along with slums and other overpopulated places. The coexistence of such contrasting features adds to the special quality of Mumbai.

A few major tourist attraction places in Mumbai

Mumbai is packed with innumerable historic and modern tourist spots. Some of these are Gateway of India, Bombay University, the Oval Maidan cricket ground, Bollywood, Victoria Terminus, Colaba Market, Marine Drive, Juhu and Chowpatty Beach and the Dharavi Slums.  A few are briefly described below.

Bollywood City : 

It is the centre of the most prominent Indian film making industry. It is probably the most productive filmmaking set up in the world. Groups of tourists can get a first-hand feel of the working of the great place. They can usually watch a film being shot on the studio sets and see a live dance show that uses the music, and dances of past Bollywood films. These dances bring together the folk and classical Indian music and dance. The dancers thrill their audience with their energy-packed movement.

The Unique Dharavi Walking Tour : 

A unique Dharavi slum tour will help tourists see for themselves the less affluent picture of Mumbai. Dharavi is said to be the second largest slum in Asia and the third biggest globally. Here the less privileged sections of society struggle bravely to make a living in several novel ways. It is satiated on the Apollo Bunder Waterfront facing the Arabian Sea. The iconic building of the Taj Hotel adds to the charm of the area to the visiting tourists.
